Study conducted in seasoned runners with a personal best in the 2.5-3 hour marathon range, tested after running 30km.
Dosed at 20g creatine per day with 60g maltodextrin (4 doses of 5g creatine monohydrate with 15g carbohydrate) for 5 days prior to event.
Creatine attenuated increases in creatine kinase, PGE2, and TNF-Alpha while abolishing increases in lactate dehydrogenase.
No significant difference noted between groups in marathon time to completion.
